March 2025 To Do List

March To-do List

Spring has finally welcomed us back to her presence!

The March Equinox marks the beginning of the spring season, and for many teachers and students, the month of March also signifies the upcoming spring break. It is our last respite before the end of the year.

Here is a list of tasks to make your transition from spring break to summer vacation more purposeful and reflective.

March To-do List

  1.  Begin organizing your classroom for summer. Recycle or share items from that stack of resources accumulating on the corner of your desk with other teachers.

  2.  Plan your teaching units for the rest of the year before your leave for spring break.

  3.  Make an appointment with your evaluator to discuss any requests or preferences for the next school year.

  4.  Perk up your classroom with spring aesthetics. Bring in a few plants or banners to create a bright and refreshing space for learning.

  5.  Student Journal Topic: Instead of asking students what they look forward to this summer, ask them to describe their idea of the perfect summer day.

  6.  Plan four self-care events for April (one per week). Consider scheduling them in your teacher planner or personal calendar, and set alerts on your phone.

  7.  Begin planning your summer reading list for relaxing on the beach or in your backyard.

  8.  Reflect on the pluses and minuses from this school year. Make a list of activities students loved and the teaching strategies you want to eliminate from your instruction.

  9.  Research educator conferences you want to attend over the summer. Find out if your principal has a budget to help with the cost. Some conferences and seminars offer virtual options if you cannot afford to travel.

  10. Map out your summer vacation events. Find out if there are any new travel restrictions if you plan on going abroad; your favorite airline might have added new fees or made recent policy changes.

What else is on your agenda for this month? Share what you would add to this list in the comments.
